Week 5

Hello again family!!
I just had another great week! I'm learning soo much about the Gospel and about Spanish! I love it. I just got back from the Temple and it was really good, as always. We had Neil L. Andersen come speak to us for the Tuesday night devotional! I don't know why I didnt go to those when I lived in Rexburg.. :'( I don't remember what Elder Andersen spoke about off the top of my head, but I remember it being a really good talk! All my notes are in my classroom.
Thank you for the package!! You know me all too well, Mom. You definitely called my favorite tie! Its name is The Mafia because it looks like something a mobster would wear. Elder Cram named it that. Elder Cram is called the White Mamba because of his basketball skillz; he played for Dixie State. I get compliments on the tie when I wear it.. I've got a pretty sweet collection of ties! I like to call it the Chamber of Secrets.. There's a lot of Elders here that would highly enjoy having my collection.
I keep hearing about Damon walking! What the heck?! By the way, I had a dream last night that Haley was like 7 months pregnant.. So uh, I'm expecting another neice or nephew when I get home!
We got a new district in our zone this week! Its nice to have some nubes in here because my district isnt the nubes anymore!
I see Judd Waggstaff alll the time, in fact, I just saw him about 20 minutes ago. He seems like a way cool guy and a lot of people from Utah know their construction company, so thats pretty cool.
Everything has been going great! My companion is a really good example to me, and I've been working on being more focused.. That's one thing he's really good at, so I'm glad I have that example. As you may know, focusing is a hard thing for me to do.. But I'm getting better at it!
OH!! I only have 3 1/2 weeks left in the MTC! When I got here on Wednesday, April 13th, that was my first week.. So the following Monday was the start of my 2nd week.. So I'm over half way to getting to Paraguay! And I can call when I get to the airport! I think I'm going to get an international calling card in the bookstore, if they have them..
I bought a new set of scriptures last week, so I'll be sending my old ones home! I don't want them getting trashed in Paraguay.. But my new ones were super cheap because of the missionary discount here.. They were like $30 and it was free to get my name on them! Pretty cool..
On my way to check my email, one of the MTC security guards tried to run me over.. I had to do a double take because I recognized him! haha! Vaughnster Monster Christensen! It was pretty awsome seeing him; he asked how everything was going and we talked for a few minutes.. and he told my companion about the time he hit me in the head with the baseball bat.. So, great times are happening in the MTC!
I wrote Dallin a couple weeks ago and I got a letter back! It sounds like he's doing really good and I was really excited to hear from him. Even though he has my bike from Rexburg in his garage back home.. I still miss the kid. I see Dean Hansen quite a bit! He's on fire! He's really excited.. He's only been here like 2 weeks and I've been here 5! I think he leaves for Nebraska next week.. Also, Devin Erikson from Parma is in here, he's going to Florida! Pretty awesome.. I hung out with him a few times in Rexburg, he and Katie B. had a thing for each other a few years ago.. He's a way cool guy.

Here's this weeks report! I'm writing a letter to send home today.. I printed off a couple more copies of the pic i sent Haley so you can have a copy and one for my plaque.. Which reminds me, I went to print a picture off the other day, and my ink cartrage took a dump! So there goes 30 prints out the window.. I'm on my last cartrage now, so if its possible, I would HIGHLY appreciate some extras. :) I hope all is well at the home front! Write me lots!

I love you!

Week 4

Haley wrote me an email saying Damon is walking!! I cant even imagine it! Please send pictures to me! And of the rest of the fam.. I cant believe he's already 1. I have a little something I'm going to try to send in the mail today. And something for Mom for Mother's Day.. :) nothing fancy. Did Mom get a call from my Branch President's wife yesterday? She said she was going to call all our Mom's for us, so we each wrote a short message and our testimony in it. I thought it was really sweet of her to do that.
Tell Blake I'm DANG proud of him!!! It's easily the single greatest thing you can do at this time in your life.. being 19 that is.. I'm sure he's seeing blessings from getting his call already! One thing I wish I would have done before the mission is memorize D&C 4 and some scriptures on faith.. I have some memorized in English and Spanish. Speaking of Spanish, my companion and I started teaching in Spanish last week to our "investigators!" We teach twice a day now so its been a good experience! I fell like my Spanish is coming along really fast.. I know its because of the Spirit, and not to mention the Gift of Tongues Richard G. Scott "envoked" apon us! So its going really well here! I'm up to 187 pounds.. I dont rememeber if I reported that in my last email. Thats 7 more pounds than I weighed when I came in.
I've been here for 4 weeks now! But according to the MTC, this is our 5th week, so I guess I only have another month before I hit Paraguay!! Its pretty awesome. Whenever we go to the Temple as a district, everyone in the Temple gets really excited to see us and find out where we're going. Theres just over 30 missionaries in the MTC going to Paraguay! Its awesome! We're getting another district on Wednesday because our zone only hase like 15 people in it now.. So we're excited to meet our new brothers! We're getting 6 new Elders and 4 Sisters.
So I was talking to Elder DiPiero (he's in my zone) also from Alaska.. He's a way cool guy, he converted about 2 years ago. Anyways, we were talking and he was like "Wait, what kind of car do you have?!" me, "uhh an Acura Integra.." he flipped! And so did I! I guess he's into Honda's and Jap-Traps as much as I am! So obviously we're really good friends now.. He has a Honda Prelude kinda like Zach's.
I'm cutting my hair today, its P-Day and I'm starting to get a little shaggy.. I also have to shave every day now because my facial hair is starting to come in through the Heiner Curse of thick facial hair.. And the disposable razors arent lasting very well.. But other than that, its all good! Things are great here in the MTC! I'm surrounded by nothing but goodness! Its awsome. And I think this is about where my train of thought runs out.. haha. The MTC pretty much has the same routine everyday, sleep for 8 hours, study for 12.. and a couple hours combined every day for meals. Oh! Dean came in on Wednesday and I finally saw him yesterday! So that was nice to see someone from back home! Well, thats about it..

Can someone send my glasses please? I forgot them in my glove box in my car.. Also send the picture from my glove box of me holding the Carp! No one believes the story.. Thanks!

I love y'alls! I pray for you all every day! You're always in my heart.

Week 3

Hello Family!

Another great week at the MTC! Yesterday was fast and testimony meeting and I bore my testimony... in Spanish! It was crazy to just get up there and not have to think about what I was gonna say in a foreign language! I've just been studying like crazy and learning the lessons from Predicad Mi Evangelio (Spanish Preach My Gospel)..
We met out new teacher last week.. He's awesome! I heard he was really strict so I was kind of nervous, but now that I've met him, I know we have WAY more potential than with our other teacher. But I still love Hermano Rosalez! He's a way cool guy. I officially weigh 187 pounds! I came in at 180 almost 3 weeks ago! The food here is delicious so its hard not to over eat. So between the food and my candy drawer, I'm getting fat! I play a lot of basketball every day when I have gym so I'm not as fat as I could be..
My district just got back from the Temple.. The Provo Temple is gorgeous! And huge! We've been doing names for one of the Elders in my district, Elder Lamb.. One of the coolest guys I've ever met, he's from Sandy I think. Anyways, everytime after we do work for his ancestors he gets teared up. I have an awesome district! My zones pretty cool too, there's not really anyone I don't like here. Its been great! Now for the rest of the day, I have lunch, laundry, and a class later tonight. I've given 5 haircuts since I've been here and 2 other Elders want me to give them one today. I need one too! I'll probably go to the barber shop here though because I heard there's cute girls that work in there ;) not that that matters or anything..
Thank you for all your love and support! I know I'm where I'm supposed to be and the Lord is on my side. Its incredible to think how much 3 weeks in a place like this can change you for the better.
I love you all and I miss you! You're in my prayers morning, night, and at my meal times! And other random times throughout the day!
